Firefly Park Breaks Ground: A Vision for Frisco Comes to Life
The future of Firefly Park is officially underway.
On May 28, community leaders, partners, and stakeholders gathered to celebrate the official groundbreaking of Firefly Park, a 217-acre urban village that will redefine how people live, work, play, and connect in Frisco.
As construction continues, Firefly Park's first phase will continue to take shape and further that vision.
Designed as a complete ecosystem, Firefly Park is intentionally planned to be equal parts retail destination, office campus, residential community, and activated public space. Each component is designed to reinforce the others, creating consistent daily activity, meaningful community connections, and a place that remains relevant and vibrant for years to come.
Phase I will deliver:
Approximately 120,000 square feet of waterfront retail and 175,000 SF Office Building
18 story high-rise and a 5-story mid-rise offering a combined 420 residences, along with 230 townhomes
A 45-acre central park that serves as the heart of the development
The next major milestone for the project is the groundbreaking of Firefly Park's 175,000-square-foot office building and Hotel Voeux, a 173-key boutique hotel. This is expected in September 2026, with delivery anticipated in Q4 2027 and Q1 2028, respectively.
As Wilks Development CEO Kyle Wilks shared during the groundbreaking celebration:
"The goal was always to create a place where people genuinely want to spend time—whether they live here, work here, or are visiting for the day."
That vision was reflected throughout the event, where one word emerged again and again from speakers and attendees alike: partnership.
Because at its core, Firefly Park is built on partnership — with the City of Frisco, the Frisco Economic Development Corporation, community organizations, local businesses, and the many individuals who have helped shape this project from concept to construction. We are grateful to everyone who joined us for this milestone occasion, including our project partners, and the countless supporters who have championed Firefly Park along the way.
A special thank you to those who shared remarks during the ceremony:
Ryan Gebhart, Chair of the Board, Frisco Chamber of Commerce
Jeff Cheney, Mayor of Frisco
Mike Barber, Vice Chair of the Board, Frisco Economic Development Corporation
Kyle Wilks, CEO, Wilks Development
During his remarks, Wilks emphasized that Firefly Park is about more than development metrics or square footage. It is about creating a place where memories are made — where families gather, entrepreneurs build businesses, neighbors connect, and visitors return time and time again.
"When you come visit Firefly Park, if you choose to visit here, work here or live here, we want you to just say these simple words: I love this place."
Here's to building a place people love.
